Brown Marmorated Stink Bugs are insects native to Asia.  They were first documented in Pennsylvania in 1998 and most likely arrived via shipping crates.

Since joining Newsvine, I've been keeping a "Quote Board" of comments from Viners. Here are a few more of my favorites in no particular order.

It was a gloomy afternoon when I arrived at my mother’s house.  The sky was overcast, and the air was crisp with a hint of snow.  I looked at the fields longingly, but I’d come to fulfill my promise to clean the unused portion of the house – the formal dining and living room, where we used to entertain when my father was still alive. 

It hadn’t been used in over a year, so maybe I could finish quickly and escape for a walk.

Newsvine Photographers is introducing a new tag in our library of articles.

“NVP-info” will be used as a search tag on all administrative articles and announcements about NVP policies and procedures.

Tags are a way of organizing your online articles into a searchable database using key words and expressions.  Most people choose their tags based on personal preference, and that’s fine, but if you want others to be able to use tags to find your articles, you need to plan out your strategy.

When I was a little girl, I used to love to play the game of Tag. I’d cover my eyes, count to ten, and then try to locate the other players, who were hiding from me.  In our version, played in the woods or a big field, the other players would have to make noises, so I’d have a general idea of where they were hiding.  I’d hunt them down, chase them, and try to make physical contact. 

“Tag!  You’re it!”

I recently came across several articles and seeds on NV, suggesting that the answer to the world’s economic problem is to provide our youth with positive education opportunities to better prepare them for a successful job.  Most people seem to agree with this, and add that appropriate parental influence is also an important factor.

It’s difficult to argue against this rational, but that’s just what I’m going to do, because I’m a country girl, and I know that you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink it.
