I loved the beautiful Poinsettia. I got my dog a duck like that once - he appreciated the fact that it didn't "squeek, it kind of "bwacked."

Presentation IS everything.

Thanks Shelby! I struggle with photographing red flowers, but I liked how these turned out. And yeah, the duck sound isn't as annoying as some of the other squeaky toys:)

Beautiful tree; I can feel the ambiance in the room:) Lovely. Piper has Java and Biscuit's duck!! But old Yeti does not. lol!! Egg nog made me want some; I chose to ignore the salute in #5:)

Poinsettia's are great shots. They turned out very well!! So pretty. I really enjoyed all your pictures. Miss you hanging on the vine! Hope you have the Best Kind of New Years: to you and all your family!

Thanks Anna! I'm back home, and trying desperately to find some control of my tracker. It's winning so far - LOL:)

The Yeti actually caught the vulture, but old Yeti claimed a wing, and he was not about to release it for the photo! LOL:) Wishing you a wonderful New Year as well!

Very nice. You should frame the ham one.

Thanks Grish! That particular bird is one of our holiday traditions. We used to only see it when my brother was coerced into doing the dishes, and couldn't talk his way out of it (which was rare.) Now I see it, whenever I pull out my camera, since he claims that's my way of getting out of the kitchen duties - LOL:)

And here I thought he just didn't want ham so he pulled out some bird.

*snicker* He's wise enough to eat whatever has been prepared -- since he didn't have to cook it:)

If he was at my house, he would have had to eat the bird, cooked or not.

Next time, have him wash his mouth out with Bud and soap. That would probably result in a lot of bubbles and be entertaining to the guests.

I think my favorite is the eggnog. That's a great photo! And it looks scrumptious! Old Yeti looks like a happy dog, too! Looks like you had a nice holiday! :)

Thanks Holly! I played with eggnog photos this year -- took about 20 different shots, but this was the one that I liked best. I wanted a holiday background, but also the details of the drink - the cream on the rim, since I spent a good hour or more whipping and beating to get the right consistency for each part! Then I played with the camera settings, trying to get the tree lights to blur in the background. I finally found the setting, but I'm not entirely sure what it is. I'll have to ask at the next meeting.

Well, I think you did a great job with that shot. I love both the softly festive background and the lovely cream on the rim! I want one...

*grins* The Yeti caught a vulture, but he was kind enough to share a wing with Old Yeti! Old Yeti just can't move the way he used to and doesn't understand why. In his heart, he's still a fierce young hunter!

I thought you were kiddng about the vulture. LOL

How smelly was it?

Nope! Not kidding at all! I'm constantly amazed at the things the Yeti brings down. He's quick and clever, and very determined. He's been tracking vultures for awhile -- you can see him race across the field, looking up, but I'm not sure how he actually caught this one. And the smell wasn't so bad. I think he must have nailed it in the fields, and he hid the carcass, so I wouldn't throw it away - LOL:)

LOL! As a matter of fact we didn't do a bird this holiday -- well, except for the Vulture provided by the Yeti -- so maybe that was the point! *snicker*

Wishing you and yours all the best for the New Year, Dubbya!
