When I saw the drama unfolding, I grabbed my camera, but unfortunately, I hadn't returned the settings to normal, after photographing Christmas lights. Oops! Ah well, I thought it was an amusing bit of drama, despite the blurry overexposure:)

I hope you enjoyed this presentation, brought to you by Luke and Leah.

Reminds me of the time my mom locked me in grandma's old trunk. I remember like it was yesterday, putting my mouth by the old key hole to get fresh air. If it wasn't for my imagination i would have never lasted the 10 hours at a time. Finally at 17 i was big enough to put a stop to it. To this day i don't east rice krispies. That was all my sisters could fit through the key hole.

Thanks etva, the last picture in particular reminds me of a cat that owned me.

He was fearless, and a friend to all, I sure miss him and have for over fifteen years.

Thanks Mal! I have to confess, that some days, I'm not entirely sure these are felines. I think they're actually ETs, which might be why I haven't booted their butts, despite stealing my things, destroying my furniture and knocking over the Christmas tree - TWICE! *grins*

Etva, thanks for a great story in pictures.

A few years ago, my cat gave me four little presents, and those little orange tabby kittens got into everything! One day, I heard scratching and mewing sounds coming from a soft drink box, and low and behold, there were four little tails sticking out of the box's opening; they'd stalked a ball, chased it all over the place, and finally cornered it in the box, but nobody wanted to be the first to actually capture it. Well, one little adventurer got up his courage, fought off his brothers, and emerged, victorious, a ball in his mouth that was almost as big as he was!

Have you tried the paper bag yet? Cut some small holes in one and throw a toy in there and watch it go.....and watch your hands, lol!

You know the toy on a string? Well, place the toy, ball, whatever, on the floor, then put a newspaper (packing paper works great, too) on top. Pull the string, very slowly, and watch the cat go nuts! They think it's a bug or mouse, or whatever, and they'll shred the paper to capture the toy. It's a fun way to play with the cat.

You can also put a marble in a small cardboard box, then nudge the box with your finger or toe. The ball will roll around, and the cat'll perk up its ears, and get to hunting.

LOL! Y'all are a hoot! Lots of good ideas there.

Outside of the box, the thing that amuses me the most is watching them go after stink bugs - especially the ones that can still fly. It's absolutely hysterical to see them race through the room, and leap up to make a grab.

I tried the paper bag thing but just ended up with a shredded bag. He's only 3 months old so I think he'll calm down a bit and just play in them eventually.

I don't know what it is about cats and boxes, but they sure do like 'em. They find all those little hidden spaces. It's hard for me to think of cats as pets, they've got their own personalities and have their own agendas, which usually involve snacks and petting. Actually, that's my agenda, too. :P

LOL! Are you saying you're a cat, TO?

And yeah, our "pets" are members of the family. It's amazing how quickly they "fit in" and adapt to become an important part of the family unit. We adopted Luke and Leah last Christmas, and I've never been able to decide if we just happened to choose the perfect cats for our family, or if they became exactly what we needed. At any rate, I can't imagine our family without them, despite the constant chaos.

Kitty drama is no laughing matter. These two otherwise fine specimens obviously have some unresolved emotional issues... involving an empty soda can box. It's a travesty, really.

LOL! Very astute of you to notice that! As it happens, they've been in therapy, but Luke is still traumatized by Leah's persistent attempts to take over his fighter jet! *grins*
