Updated continuously by citizens like you, Newsvine is an instant reflection of what the world is talking about at any given moment.
No color enhancement or editing to any of these. Happy New Year to all my Vine friends!
If you haven't already seen them, several Newsvine Photographers were tracking this first sunset of the year.
Mine were taking about 5pm EST in Virginia.
Here is Rottlady's first 2012 sunset taken in Springfield Missouri -- Central Time (I think.)
Here is Fletch's first sunset of 2012 taken in Hawaii.
If anyone else was tracking the New Year sunset, please feel free to link here. It's kind of fun to follow the sun:)
Ah Gee!! Amazingly beautiful!! I hope the rest of our year is this filled with beauty. Happy New Year Dear ((((etva))))!!
Thanks Anna! I hope so also! I had my helping of black-eyed peas, just to be sure! LOL:) Happy New Year, Anna!
We do pork and sauerkraut:) Hey, it's only let me down a few years!
*grins* Whatever works! My mother makes sure everyone who comes by has some good luck food!
It just amazes me that the colors are so vibrant this time of year. Beautiful.
Was it misty? The darker clouds look like they could have been misting down, almost lightly raining.
Hi Shelby! It wasn't raining at the time, but we did have showers off and on today, so it could be mist giving the clouds in the first two photos that glowing effect. It sure was stunning, whatever it was.
i like them all, great pictures.
Thanks 58! Notice no squirrels in the trees. My boys are good with a slingshot! *evil grins*
well ifin you got no squirrels, well them SUE and friends well have it easy them now hey.
1 & 2 look almost like the aurora borealis, most excellent etva!
That's exactly what it reminded me of, though I couldn't "find" the comparison last night. I swear I think my kids are eating my brain cells when I'm not paying attention. *sigh* Thanks, M!
So very lovely dear Etva♥. No matter what you photograph you have such a wonderful "eye" and always have such great photos to share. :)
Why thank you, Mrs. D! What a beautiful compliment! This sunset was blinding with it's brilliance - hard to miss:)
