These images were taken last weekend; today is 65 degrees and we are currently experiencing a January thunderstorm. I'm so confused!!!!

Just remember etva, there's no such thing as "global warming", and you'll be fine. :-P

By the way, I love the "alien"picture I got a good laugh out of it. The trees really are pretty, though. :-)

Thanks gmross. Maybe it's the aliens messing with the weather! :-)

We've had mild weather too. BTW, your tire tracks photograph sparked an idea for an art project that I think I should probably complete: an expose on the many peculiar uses of a surprisingly active school property.

LOL, Ben! I can imagine lots of uses for school property, so I'm looking forward to seeing your project!

A picture is worth a thousand words; this sure explains our situation this winter. Lovely photos etva. The snow berries are just gorgeous and I particularly like the teardrop. We have flood warning here due to an onslaught of 1 inch of rain in 14 hours; Ohio is now over 80 inches of rain in a year! Wonder if that means dry summer ahead?

Sure hope your daffodils come back. They are as confused as we are! Beautiful post!

Thanks Anna! I'm glad you like the teardrop. I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't clearer, but perhaps I can sharpen it in PSE. I'll get there - eventually - LOL!

Like you, I'm concerned about a dry summer. We've had many of them lately, with our rain coming at the strangest times. Makes our growing season very difficult to plan. I'm seeding early this year, basing my timing on the past few years, rather than what has always been the norm. *sigh*

Great photos, all. Is there really a plant called snowberries? Looks like it might do well out here, like holly trees that grow wild. My favorite is Silver Snow Trees. Almost an Ansel Adams quality and look/feel to it. Very nice.

Thanks Don! They aren't really called snowberries, and I should know the name, because Vlad already told me the name, but I'm drawing a complete blank at the moment! LOL! I'll post the real name, if and when it comes to me:)

rottlady.... stay safe down there. Looks like the weather in your area has been overly volitile this time of year. I worry about all Vine members when I see inclement weather in their areas. Especially the ones in 'blue'. Be well my friend! ((((rottlady))))

I havent seen so much as one snowflake this year. It's supposed to be 65 degrees today, and I'm a little disappointed. Nice shots of American Holly and Nandina berries.

Thanks Knotthaid! [etva renaming photos so as not to forget again!]

We already hit 65 in VA today, but it's supposed to drop back down to 50 in a few hours. What really amazes me, is how quickly the temps change. Lately I'm seeing a 10 degree difference in 15 minutes. Very strange!

All very nice but the tree image is stunning. We have wet, heavy snow today. The kind of snow that blankets every surface. When you step in it though you leave a puddle of water. The ground is saturated but not frozen.

It's what we call "mushy" up here.

Thanks Vlad! We were mushy here too, but that has passed into thunderstorms and wind. My poor daffys are still trying to bloom!

Beautiful, etva! Dreaming of the Snow is still one of may favorites; love the kitty's reflection in the window. I also love Snow Fence; very nice composition there. And great job capturing that lovely water drop in Snow Tear Drop. :)

Very nice photos et. The snow really brings out the best in things sometimes. Your kitty looks snug and happy. Poor daffodils though. I've noticed we have some bulbs starting to pop through the ground and it's a long time until Spring. I hope we don't all lost our plants with this odd weather.

Thanks Soovi! The good news is that Daffodils are pretty resilient, but sadly, they won't bloom again in March when they were supposed to bloom. I planted some new bulbs - deeper this time, so hopefully they'll take.

The strange weather is really having an effect on our magnolias. I think we're going to lose the Southern Magnolia entirely, which really makes me sad:(
